A Ride to Sikkim and Bhutan 2200KM - Part 4 - Reaching Gangtok

The journey continues after a good lunch at the end we reach Gangtok tonight.

On the way after some time after Kishanganj you can see Tea Plantations on both sides of the road.
After some riding we took a halt by the road as we had left Vishal behind immediately a photo shoot was in order.

Some Insect attempt at a Macro shot

Me :-)
Was sitting on the grass trying to get some thandak as it was really hot in the afternoon. While riding we observed most of the highways were vacant people would come from any direction with their vehicles. Also we found the highways being used to dry grains or grass and stuff. Tractors would straight away cross over the divider and land in front of you suddenly.
But still it was fun riding the highway I wished I had a faster bike :-)

On the way to Gangtok after the road was beautiful twisties also we encountered this beautiful bridge known as the Coronation Bridge. A lot of monkeys also hound this place, a lot of tourists from West Bengal can be seen spending time here.

The way straight goes to Gangtok

The way pointing to Siliguri is the way to Gangtok, the other way is later taken by us to go to Jaigaon on way to Bhutan.

Some kids where jumping into the river flowing here and swimming downstream.

The gate to Sikkim, West Bengal ends here and Sikkim starts. You have to make entry of your vehicles while entering at the Gate.

Below Vishal takes a pose at the gate to Sikkim.

The night we reached Gangtok checked into a hotel Rs 1000 per day. Parking is a major issue in Gangtok Rs.10 for a  Night/Day the terrain doesnt allow hotels to have the liberty of parking space. But as such nobody tampers with your vehicles its feels pretty safe in Gangtok. But there is a overflow of tourist crowd in Gangtok in the season, even when we went it was filled with tourists mostly from West Bengal, its cooler here than WB. Tomorrow the hunt for the permits begin..
To Be Continued.....
